Gurney Drive Cleanup

The state Govt embarked on a cleaning up Penang project dubbed “Gurney Drive Cleanup”, initiated by Pulau Tikus assemblyman, KoayTeng Hai and organised by JCI Bayan. More then 50 organisations such as Dell, Equator Academy of Art, KDU college etc took up in this event. The state Govt commented Dell for being having the most attended participants. The event was officiated by the state Local Government and Traffic Management Committee chairman, Chow Kon Yeong. An estimated 2000 participated in this year’s event which is in its 4th year running since 2008. The total weight of garbage collected was 3193 kg, out of this, the topmost 3 recorded are – 1. plastic bags, 2. wood and 3.styrofoam.
